Tripura minister accuses Tipra Motha cadres of attacking him
Agartala: Tripura’s tribal welfare minister Bikash Debbarma accused cadres of BJP’s alliance partner Tipra Motha of attacking him during an election campaign at Mungiakami in Khowai district on Sunday evening.Describing the incident as ‘deeply unfortunate’, Bikash said the attack took place around 8pm while he was visiting the residence of a party worker. He alleged that the attackers vandalised the house of his party worker and continued their rampage for close to an hour, resulting in significant damage.According to the minister, around nine motorcycles were destroyed, and three houses were ransacked in the chaos. “They wanted to kill me. Such violent practices have no place in politics. Voters will reply to such incidents in the upcoming ADC elections,” he said.Police have registered a complaint but no arrests have been made so far.
